Yup... still pregnant
I have a lot of fun and exciting things to write about but when it comes to actually taking the time to type, I pull out my pregnancy card and resume my laziness. With less than a month to go I find it very difficult to be nice to anyone and my patience level isn't even on the radar any more. I have been working from home the past few weeks which has helped tremendously! I dont have to take a shower, put my makeup on, get dressed or deal with people face to face. The joy of technology!
So let's play some catch-up, shall we?
First off, last weekend I had a dear friend from California com up and stay with us for the weekend. We had sushi on the Seattle waterfront, woke up and baked scones and sipped coffee, did a little shopping and had a relaxing visit! She even introduced me to a new book series, Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. So far I love it and am very grateful since I needed new reading material. It was gorgeous weather and over all a wonderful weekend!
I have a doctor's appointment next Tuesday and my first internal. I am a little aprehensive since I know I probably will have no dialation and if I do, I could stay like that for weeks. It's like a little taste of what to come.
Well that is pretty much it... exciting huh!

Hi! :)
I do have some great blog ideas in the works so keep checking back :)
Anyway, our baby shower was amazing! It couldn't have turned out better! A little over whelming at times, we had 50+ people, but it was great to see everyone. Everyone was so generous and kind. I kept asking myself through out the day: "Is this really MY baby shower?" It is still so surreal!
*I have been working on this post from 9:00 this morning and it is almost 7:30 at night... time to call it quits and start fresh tomorrow*

Reality check
I am having a baby. Yup, a REAL baby... not those fake kinds. The kind that cry, poop, eat, sleep, smile, giggle, grow up and call me mommy. Yup, one of THOSE kinds.
Lastnight, my mom and her BF, my dad, and Grandparents were all down helping set up for our baby shower today. I was doing fine until they starting putting the stroller, thanks mom!, and pack - n - play, thanks Grandparents!, together. I just stood, watched and was in awe. Yes, these are MY things, this is MY baby shower and this will be MY baby; a real one. Maybe it was because it was a little hectic last night, maybe it was becuase it is all happening in a blink of an eye or maybe it's becuase I havnt been able to get drunk in 8 months; whatever the case may be... this is it. 5 more weeks of this and a little boy will be entered into our lives. Having the baby doesnt scare me as much as seeing all the crap Jordan will need to survive.
Trust me, Marc was in the same position but he seemed to be gleaming with joy. He is one happy daddy!

Refreshed after long weekend
Canada was beautiful and the concert kicked major ass! The venue was not the best and we will not be going there again to see a concert, but STP rocked out! I had never seen them live and the last time Marc was able to was back in 93' during their prime.
The concert ended at about 11:30 and we drove straight back to my mom's which is about a half an hour out of Bellingham, WA. We were exhausted.
So for the rest of the weekend we just relaxed and got some errands done. I finally went and bought fabric for Jordan's bedding and nursery. it took me forever as I was not pleased with the baby selection at Jo-Ann's. I did finally pick on a color scheme and it is coming out beautifully!
Here are the pillows that will go in his room on the bench below the window:
And here is the quilt top, unfinished:
I have enough of the circle fabric to do blinds and his crib skirting. Now I just have to bust my tush to get it done before the shower on Saturday.

Just a little update...
Mah belly is getting bigger and is up to 33 centimeters! And I can officially say that I am done with this pregnancy thing... 50 days left, 7 weeks left. Anyway you would like to count it - I am done! Well, not literally of course.
I was laying in bed this morning as Marc got out of the shower and I asked him if he thinks these next few weeks will go by fast. He said for him they will but that's because he doesn't have to carry it around with him all day and night long. I think he is in shock now that I am down to a month and a half left... he is ready to meet his son but at the same time he is scared of the "unknown". Well let it be known that I am the same feelings.
Happy *early* Labor Day!
Marc and I are heading up to Vancouver BC for the Stone Temple Pilots concert! It's Marc's favorite band and I bought him tickets several months ago... I just cannot believe it is here already. We are going to drop the pups off at my mom's and head up there for a nice lunch and some sight seeing. This will be the first time I have ever been to Canada - hard to believe when we live so close.
The the following weekend is our baby shower! Marc and I are very excited about seeing everyone as I am sure they are just as excited to see me. Although I don't want it to be hot, I do hope it is not raining. We are planning on setting up tables and tents outside to accommodate the 50 some people we will have at our home. I just hope I am feeling ok that day!
AND I am officially done with sleep now. Nights of getting 7-8 hours of sleep have been over for a while now. Last night I woke up in almost unbearable pain in my lower back. I must have slept on my back for a long length of time as my tailbone was throbbing from the pressure. I am a stomach sleeper and cannot wait until I am able to once more - even if it is only for a few hours at a time!

Happy Birthday, Derby!
Marc and I are still in dis-belief that he is ONLY 4 months old. We got him when he was only 6 weeks old, just a tiny little thing! Now he is huge and is almost as big as Lilly. I bet in a few more months he will be the exact same size as her, and she is coming up on 3 years old already!
Derby at 6 weeks
Derby now

He is such a good dog, though. Lilly is a wonderful big sister and has taught him so well... we didn't have to do much with him at all! He is very loyal, loving and independent. Oh, and he is a mamma's boy! But I guess that was bound to happen as Lilly is a daddy's girl. From the very first day we got him I was always holding him, making sure he went outside and teaching him how to sit, shake and lay down. And we are both very excited to have our baby around our pups. They will both be in his life for many years to come; to watch over him, to help him when he falls, to offer sloppy licks with he cries or to clean up after a popsicle. :)
Other random things:
I have not been feeling well at all lately. We had a huge heat surge this past weekend that put me over the edge from bearable to miserable. My ankles are so swollen right now, even with me putting them up all of the time. i keep getting headaches and my nausea seems to come and go again. Luckily I can work from home which has been a lifesaver! I go in when I need to and stay home when I am feeling shitty. Thank goodness for wi-fi and cell phones!
We are very excited for football season again, if you didn't already know. We signed up for our fantasy football league a few weeks back. It is official! We named ourselves "Kayesters 5"... as of right now we are still only 4 but we have high hopes that the 5th will be helping us pick our players in no time!
Happy Wednesday to everyone! Only 2 more days left!!

Just. my. luck.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.. no really, THANKS!
Oh well... I will survive. I'll be puffy, swollen and bitchy but I will survive.
